My Portfolio

Welcome to my Portfolio of Work. Having spent 16 years teaching computing, rather than having the time to develop websites, means that I only have a few examples of my work at present.

The projects below have been developed over the last few years and show examples of websites that were build by hand coding. Some of the skill areas required for these projects include HTML5, CSS3, JQuery, standard JavaScript and some php.

At present the only example of a WordPress site that I can offer you is the one you are currently viewing (iannicholson.co.uk).

Newer examples of websites will appear here as I develop my business, look back soon or send me an enquiry so I can develop a website for you and add it here as an example of my work.

Tannoy.com

Tannoy.com

In 2014 in order to update my skill-set, I was given time away from my job as a college lecturer to work with Kevin Slowey, a freelance web developer based in Hamilton.

The main project I worked on was the new Tannoy.com website.

Please Note: I did not work on the Residential and Studio sections of this website. I do not want to take credit for the hard work of others.

South Lanarkshire College - VLE Theme

South Lanarkshire College - VLE Theme

I developed a new theme for the college's Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), which runs on the Moodle system.

I'm afraid you need to be either a staff member or student of the college to view a live version of this site.

Scottish Power E-Quote System

Scottish Power E-Quote System

Again, working with Kevin Slowey, we developed an E-Quote system for Scottish Power.

This system is used by the company internally by their contracted maintenance engineers and is not publicly available on the Web.

South Lanarkshire College - Photo App

South Lanarkshire College - Photo App

This fun little app is used by South Lanarkshire College’s photography students.

It is an HTML5 off-line application that allows students to display before and after images in a portfolio of work.

This simplified the storage, display, submission and marking of assessment images for both students and assessors.

Dhualton Cottage - Kirtomy

Dhualton Cottage - Kirtomy

The Dhualton Cottage website advertised a holiday home for rent in the north of Scotland.

The cottage has since been sold on and is no longer available for rent.
